

ASA 114 - Cruising Catamaran


ASA 114 - Class Price $850 - 2 day Course
​Prerequisites: ASA 101, ASA 103 & ASA 104

This Catamaran Cruising course will enable you to skipper an auxiliary-powered sailing cruising catamaran of approximately 30 to 45 feet in length during a multi-day liveaboard cruise upon inland or coastal waters in moderate to heavy winds (up to 30 knots) and sea conditions. Knowledge of catamaran structure, components and features, performance under sail and power, boat systems, seamanship and safety, heavy weather operation, and emergency response.
During our two-day ASA 114 Course, you will learn:

Do I need to study before the class starts?

Yes, course material is included in the course fee and is mailed to you upon registration. Becoming familiar with the material in advance is recommended to get the most out of the course.
What do I need to bring to my class?

Clothing appropriate for the season

Lightweight long sleeve shirt for sun protection

Soft soled shoes or deck shoes, flip flops are NOT a good option for moving around a sailboat.

Foul weather gear (i.e. rain gear)

Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses with a strap

Sailing gloves (optional)

ASA Textbooks, ASA logbook, notebook, pencils.

Dramamine or other motion sickness medication

Personal medications (the vessel is equipped with standard first aid kits)
