Welcome to Island Bound Sailing, where sailing is all about fun and adventure! Our newest branch at Carolina Beach is the sister school of our Texas-based award-winning ASA sailing academy. Located in the Carolina Beach Yacht Club and Marina, we offer a variety of exciting sailing adventures. Our daily 3-hour Discovery Sails are perfect for exploring local waters and wildlife. Whether you prefer trying your hand at sailing or just want to relax and soak in the stunning scenery and wildlife, our sailing adventures are fun for all.
For those ready to learn, our sailing academy offers a comprehensive selection of ASA-certified courses, from beginner lessons to advanced bareboat captain certification. Taught by Master Captains and Certified Instructors, we take pride in providing an exciting and fun learning experience.

At Island Bound Sailing we proudly offer Veteran and First Responder discounts, and in keeping with of our mission of opening the world of sailing to more aspiring sailors, we have sailing class scholarships available for disadvantaged young adults from the surrounding area.

Our instructors are not only USCG Master Captains and ASA Certified Sailing Insrtuctors, but also passionate about sharing their knowledge and skills with others. We take pride in our team's friendly patient professionalism, and commitment to ensuring every student's success.
Capt. Brian "Buck" Latas
Captain Buck is an experienced sailor with decades of teaching and sailing expertise. His leadership and comprehensive understanding of sailing techniques make him an invaluable asset to our students' learning journey. Capt. Buck might be the friendliest pirate you will ever meet!
Capt. Mark Stewart
With more than 25 years experience Capt. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Island Bound Sailing. His passion for sailing and dedication to providing exceptional, easy to understand training, and fun experiences for our clients have earned rave reviews.
Capt. John Rider
Capt. John's love for the sea and his extensive expertise in sailing make him an outstanding instructor and charter captain. His patient and encouraging teaching style has helped numerous students develop confidence and proficiency in sailing.
